Poetry |The Loss| by Grace Bokpe

March 01, 2017 TWF Editor 1 Comments

His death came unannounced,
As he laid on his back.
The soil on the ground bounced,
As he laid there in the park.

He caught no attention,
As he was carried away.
I turned to his direction,
And saw the way he swayed.

I knelt down and wept,
As I thought of those days.
It brought up a depth,
That will stay for many years.

But what could I do?
The worst had been done.
Where would I go?
Now that he had gone.

It was truly the worst,
For I had the greatest loss.
